White Tops

I heard Bryce Canyon got a foot of new snow last night. It would have been fun to go up there, but I didn't have time today. Thus, here's a shot from a snowstorm last December.

Night at Thor's Hammer

It was a beautiful night in Bryce Canyon with fresh snow and a full moon. I used a small spotlight to add some accent light to Thor's Hammer. I really liked how it made the rock formation pop.

Good Morning From Bryce

A colorful sunrise from the rim of Utah's Bryce Canyon. Even those these views are over-photographed, they never really get old, at least for me. Since the clouds were so good, I just took a classic framing of the canyon about halfway between sunrise and sunset points.

Highway 12 Fall Color

Fall color has been lacking this year in Utah, but at least I saw a little bit while driving home on Highway 12. I'm sure it was better just a week earlier, but I also liked the contrast between the pines, the aspens with leaves, and the aspens with no leaves.

Thanksgiving Sunrise

Here's a good image for the first day of December. I stopped by Bryce Canyon on Thanksgiving morning hoping to catch a nice break in the storm that was moving through the area. About 10 mins before sunrise, it started snowing again and you couldn't see anything. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to get any good shots that morning. All of the sudden, the snow stopped and a small slit formed in the clouds to the east. It only lasted a couple minutes and produced such a beautiful glow in the snowy air.
