The Towers of Silence
The towers of silence are some of my favorite hoodoos in Southern Utah. The white layer is very crumbly and is full of cracks and holes. I'm amazed it can hold up these rocks so well! We hiked into this spot in the dark before sunrise. Unfortunately, we went down the wrong fork in the wash and ended up far from the towers. We decided to climb out of the wash and cut over to the towers. This took a lot longer than expected since it was difficult to find a path back into the wash (note the large cliffs in the background). Fortunately, the light was still good by the time we arrived!
